Over Easter break we went to Holland to spend time with Lisa’s family. It was a wonderful break full of lots of new memories. We happened to be there at the time of year when Keukenhof is open. To be perfectly honest, I have no idea what it does for the 44 weeks of the year that it is not open to the public, but for 8 weeks each year, they open their doors and let the public, from all over the world, visit their incredible gardens.

People come from all parts of the globe to see the magnificent varieties and arrangements of arguably the most beautiful flowers in the world in full bloom and in all their glory. We spent 3 hours just meandering past┬ábed after bed of pure eye candy. They say it is one of the “must do” things in Holland, that everyone does who visits there…except the Dutch themselves. All of Lisa’s family had heard of Keukenhof, but none of them had actually visited there. I get that…when something is in your backyard it loses some of the draw that is has for others.

We happened to visit on a Thursday, so a week day, and we got there at like 11 thinking it wouldn’t be so crowded. Well, it was. And it just got more crowded as the day went on, however, we overheard someone commenting on how there was hardly anyone there compared to the weekend. So we took it all in stride figuring it could have been worse…much worse.

I take a lot of pictures. I know this. But there were people there…and not just a few of them…that were waaayy more fanatical about “getting the perfect shot” of all the flowers. Still, I managed to get a ton of pics that I was really happy to look at later. There are too many for any kind of gallery so I thought I would put a slideshow together. It’s in HD to try and give as much of the full effect as I can for such beautiful works of art. It’s still a family vid so there are some funny shots of us in there, but mostly it’s just flower pics set to chill tunes. If you have a few minutes to kill, check it out. It’s best on a big monitor in fullscreen mode čÖé ┬ájust sayin…
